Apply In Person

  1. To Obtain Good Hygienic Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (ANVISA) link
  2. Ensure that the applicant’s facility meets the required hygiene standards and sanitation practices. This may involve implementing appropriate cleaning procedures, maintaining proper waste management systems, providing adequate handwashing facilities, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, if applicable.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  8. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. Then the application will be processed further.
  11. During the inspection, the regulatory authority will verify the applicant’s compliance with hygiene and sanitation requirements. They may review the applicant’s documentation, observe his/her processes, and conduct tests if necessary.
  12. If the applicant’s facility meets the required standards and passes the inspection, the regulatory authority will issue the applicant the Good Hygienic Certificate, indicating that his/her establishment complies with the hygiene and sanitation requirements.
  13. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
