Procedure

How to apply:

1. You should contact theMinistry of Labour and Home Affairs, Directorate of Apprenticeship and Industrial Training department orRegional labour officer near youfor more information on how to file the application.
2. Accurately fill in the application form, which can be obtained from the above offices or click the link below to download.
   • (Madirelo Training and Testing Centre Medical Certificate Form) Form
   • (Apprenticeship Training Form) Form
3. Submit the completed form along with the required supporting documentation (as listed below)for verification and processingin person or by post from January 3rd to March 31ft of every year.
4. If theDirectorate issatisfied that you have complied with the all conditions as set for the application you will be notified in a month and you can begin your training.

Required Documents

• One certified copy of National ID (Omang).
• Three copies of the contract of apprenticeship in order for government to assist with placement and monitoring of the whole apprenticeship.
• Certificates, if applicable, to show prior learning and training.

Eligibility

All citizens who meet the following criteria qualify for the service:

• Above 16 years old.
• Certified medically fit.
• Interested in pursuing a career in vocational courses.
• businesses which meet a certain criteria ( check the list with the department)

Fees

• There are no costs associated with this service.

Validity

Explain the time until which the certificate/document is valid.

Instructions

• The medical form must be completed by the medical practitioner at the hospital
• The Apprenticeship Contract is an agreement that binds the employer (company) and the applicant (trainee) on issues pertaining to how the training must be implemented.
• The training placement is done by the government and the government acts as an intermediary between the two parties.
• Applicants apply and are posted for apprenticeship in companies.
