Apply In Person

  1. The Leasing of open spaces to the private sector is primarily done in accordance with the Local Authorities Procurement and Asset Disposal Act through open tender. Local Authority Contact Details
  2. Upon notification by the Local Authorities for the availability of open spaces for lease in the government gazette, all prospective applicants are required to respond to the advert and submit their application to the specific local authority office that posted the ad. Application form and the checklist, “Required Documents”, are obtainable at the local authority office.
  3. Upon receipt of the application file, the receiving officer will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria, before registering the file for processing the application, which will be in a first come, first served basis.
  4. Successful applicant will be notified by the local authority office, applicants will be required to visit the authority office and present their identity document, sign a lease agreement and pay the required lease fee and issued with a copy of the lease agreement, which will serve as a contract between you and the authority.

  • The validity of the lease contract/agreement is mentioned on the contract and is subjected to renewal, which is usually after 12 months, although 6 and 18-month contracts are also common.
