Apply In-Person

  1. The request for water Analysis (Laboratory Services) shall be made to the Department of Water and Sanitation office, which is under the Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services. Ministry contact details
  2. Applicants should visit any of the Department of Water and Sanitation offices, Water Quality Laboratory, and express their interest to have their water tested.
  3. Customers will be issued with the Request form at the service desk or directly download it using this link;Request form
  4. The customer will be provided with sample collection bottles and instructions on how to collect the water sample.
  5. The application form duly completed in all respect, attached to the supporting documentation as mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page, and the sample should be submitted to the Department of Water and Sanitation offices, Water Quality Laboratory for testing and analysis.
  6. Upon receipt of the application file and sample the laboratory technician/staff will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before advising the customer to make payment of the applicable fee as mentioned under the “Fees” section below.
  7. The sample will be labelled and registered, the customer will be issued with an acknowledgment as proof of submission of the application.
  8. The result of the analysis will be ready for withdrawal by the applicant within 5 and 10 working days for Microbiology analysis and Chemical analysis respectively, against the applicant identification document and acknowledgment slip, if in person or the results can also be sent to the applicant via e-mail or post, as per the applicant request.
  9. If you require the result to be explained to you, please contact/request the laboratory technician to do so, also you will be provided with advice on national water standards.

  • Chemistry Full Pack cost is 300 (BWP)

Chemistry Full Pack include the following; {pH, Electrical Conductivity, Total Dissolved Solids, Alkalinity, Bicarbonates, carbonates, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, fluoride, chloride, bromide, nitrite, nitrate, sulphate, o-phosphate, Turbidity}

  • Microbiology Full Pack cost is 240 (BWP)

Microbiology Full Pack include the following; {Faecal coliform, E. coli, Total coliform, Intestinal enterococcus}

  • Chemical Analysis of Waste Water-Full Pack cost is 200 (BWP)

Chemical Analysis of Waste Water-Full Pack includes the following; {Total Suspended Solids, Dissolved oxygen, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand.

  • Individual Analyte (drinking water) cost is 15 (BWP)


  • Individual Analyte (Microbiology) cost is 60 (BWP)


  • Individual Analyte (Wastewater) cost is 50 (BWP)
