Apply In-Person:
- One should conduct and visit the Department of Waste Management & Pollution Control Offices for consultation and file the application with the department
- Application form, can be obtained from the above offices, or click the below link to download FORM
- Accurately fill in the form and attach all the requirements and submit them for processing and verification.
- Upon payment of the vehicle inspection fees, inspection will be conducted as follows
- Inspections are done on Mondays & Thursdays between 07:30-12:00 hrs. (Gaborone only)
- Licensing officer communicates with the applicant when inspection is to take place,(Outside Gaborone)
- If the vehicle(s) pass the inspection, the licences will be issued within 5 working days after the inspection date.

A waste carrier license is a permit issued for a vehicle that meets the requirements for transportation of the specific waste that it is to carry:
- General waste (domestic or commercial non-hazardous solid waste)
- Wastewater
- Hazardous waste (Untreated medical waste, batteries, used oil, etc.)
- Other non-hazardous waste that is neither general nor wastewater (scrap metal, crushed tins, bottles, paper and plastic etc.)
