Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. The National Development Bank has introduced various financial assistance interventions like the Ntlhatlosa individual Loan.NDB contact details
2. Interested applicants who wish to obtain Ntlhatlosa individuals loans, should visit the nearest NDB branch office and express their interest in assessing the loan to the sales department unit.
3. Collect and complete the Ntlhatlosa Loan Application Form (Individuals) available at any of the NDB offices or download it via the NDB website,NDB Forms or directly download it using this link;Ntlhatlosa Loan Application Form
4. Submit the certified copies of the supporting documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, in addition to the duly completed application form in all respect, to the NDB sales department office/unit. Any omission of these documents will render the application process incomplete.
5. Upon receipt of the application file, the NDB receiving officer will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for assessment and consideration by the NDB sales department unit.
6. The application will be processed as per the information and documentation provided, that is why applicants are advised to provide sufficient information to enable the NBD to evaluate the business/company and make its decision.
7. The following will be considered during the processing of the loan;
8. Security of the loan:
9. Cattle financed to be considered as security for the loan
10. Certificate of Indebtedness overall agricultural assets to be executed, to form part of the security for the loan.
11. How the loan will be paid, repayment of the loan is made monthly, which may be deducted from the borrower's salary or any other source of income.
12. Notice of the decision (Approval, Deferral, or Rejection) for the Loan will be communicated to the client in writing /phone/email.
13. If the funding is approved, the applicant will be required to visit the NDB office, where the application was lodged, and produce a proof of identity document to be validated by the authorized official. The borrower shall be made to sign a contract with NDB
14. The Access of the loan by the applicant once approved, is normally subjected to pre-disbursement conditions as the NDB deems fit, once all these conditions have been fulfilled, the loan can start disbursing in accordance with the implementation schedule agreed with the applicant (borrower).

Required Documents

• Two (2) certified copies of National Identity Cards (Omang), for all Batswana applicants, all Shareholders, and Directors. Two (2) certified true copies of passports (for non-citizens).
• Evidence of Waterpoint/Borehole completion certificate and water rights certificate.
• Livestock Brand Certificate
• Deed for Assets pledged as security.
• Current Payslips for both applicant and Spouse.
• Quotation(s)
• Bank Statements for 6 consecutive months.
• Proof of Physical Address e.g. Utility bills.
• Employment Confirmation Letter/ Copy of Employment Contract.
• Copy of Marriage certificate. If married out of community of Property please provide Instrument from Deeds Office. /Decree Absolute.
• BURS Tax Number.
• Valuation Report for assets pledged as security (Valuation reports for properties should not be more than 3 years old)
• Provide proof of Additional Income (if applicable); not Rental Income

Eligibility

• The applicant should have an existing active bank account with the National Development Bank (NDB).
• NDB offers loans from P20 000 to P150 000 for new clients and up to P250 000 for existing clients to do the following:
• Purchase Breeding Stock
• Borehole Drilling and Equipping
• Purchase of existing Borehole
• Farm Development
• Purchase of Farm Equipment
• Water Reticulation
• Cattle Feeds and Medication
  

Fees

• Please consult with the NDB if the processing fee (handling fee) for the loan is applicable
• No upfront Contribution is required, however, the following will be considered during the processing of the loan,
• Security of the loan:
• Cattle financed to be considered as security for the loan
• Certificate of Indebtedness overall agricultural assets to be executed, to form part of the security for the loan.
• How the loan will be paid, repayment of the loan is made monthly, which may be deducted from the borrower's salary or any other source of income.

Validity

The maximum repayment period for the loan is 5 years, Monthly repayments deductible from salary or any other source of income.
