1. Go to the County Clerk's Office.
2. Present required documents.

Eligibility

• Both applicants must be 18 years old or older.
• For applicants ages between 16 and 17, parental consent is required to marry.
• For applicants who are 15 years old, a court order must be obtained.

Marriage License Fee: $25.00

Validity

The marriage license is valid for 1 year.

• License purchased in any New Mexico county, can be used state-wide.

On the wedding day, either preceding or following the ceremony, the couple must present their marriage license to the minister, who must make sure that the license is valid, and that the couples information is accurate.

The minister then signs the license, ensuring that it bears any necessary witness signatures. Once completed, the minister or the couple must return the license to the County Clerks office within applicable deadlines.
