ProcedureEdit

  1. Go to the county clerk office where you plan to file.
  2. Present and submit documents required.
  3. Complete the application form, Application and Affidavit to Obtain Marriage License
  4. Pay the marriage license fee.

  • Current, valid drivers license or state-issued ID card
  • Passport
  • Birth Certificate
  • certified copy of the divorce decree (for previously married)

EligibilityEdit

  • Both applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • For one or both applicants who are 16 and 17 years old, must have a notarized, legal consent from parents or guardian.
  • Applicants must not be related to each other.



FeesEdit

  • Marriage License Fee: $85.50



ValidityEdit

A Marriage License is valid for 6 months. The license can only be used within the State of Kansas.

  • The bride and groom need not be present. Either person may make application for the marriage license.
  • Minors must be accompanied by parent or guardian, and application must be approved by the Judge.
  • Applications may be obtained in the Clerk of the District Court office.
  • License will be published in the local newspaper.

  • Residence (city, county and state)
  • Birthplace (state or foreign country)
  • Date of birth
  • Race
  • Highest level of education completed
  • Both applicants fathers' full name (first, middle and last)
  • Both applicants mothers' full name (first, middle and maiden)
  • All birthplaces (state or foreign Country)
  • Name and address of person performing ceremony, if known.
  • Date of last marriage (if previously married)
  • Social security number, drivers license number or ID number of applicants
