Viewable Driver Record (VDR)Edit

You can view your driver record for free online by logging in using your myBMV.com account, if you do not have an account you may create one by clicking on the same link.


Official Driver Record (ODR)Edit

  • Purchase, download, and print your Official Driver Record - Online : LINK
  • Request by Mail: To those who do not know their drivers license number, you will be required to request a copy of your Official Driver Record by mail. To place an order, print and mail the 'Request for Driver Records - State Form 53789' to the BMV. Remember to include your payment.

The BMV offers services at different types of convenient locations. Full-service license branches are open Tuesday to Saturday and other customer service locations are open Monday to Saturday, except on state holidays.

Official Driver Record (ODR): $4.00


Mail Requests: Acceptable forms of payment are money order, cashier's check, business check or personal check (customer must have an INDIANA BMV record to process a personal check). Make checks payable to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Two types of driving records:

  • Viewable Driver Record (VDR): Can be viewed at no charge.
  • Official Driver Record (ODR): A certified copy of a driver's record that is accompanied by a letter of certification from the BMV. Some employers and school admission offices require a certified driver record.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

A driver record contains the license owner's driving history. The record shows current and resolved court-ordered suspensions, citations, violations and other entries impacting the license holder's record - including reinstatement fees owed to the BMV.
