Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The applicant has to reach out to Social Security Administration for the application. Contact details are mentioned in “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page. Or use the following Contact Link
2. Applicant should make sure to carry all the documents that are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals if necessary).
3. The applicant has to obtain the application form and fill in all the necessary details in the form and attach the photocopies of the documents that are needed along with the application form before submitting.
4. There is no fee required for this application.
5. Concerned authorities will look into the application form and submitted documents before changing the details.

Apply Online

1. Application is available in the following Link
2. If the applicant is an existing user, they can login directly using their “Username” and “Password”.
3. If the applicant is a new user, they have to register first by clicking on the “Create an account” option.
4. An applicant has to provide their own email address and passport when they create an account and finally click on “Create an account” button.
5. Once the registration is successful, the applicant can login with their “Username” and “Password”.
6. Login to My Social Security->My Profile->Update Contact information->Enter the address information->Select when to schedule the update->Next->Verify the information->Submit.
7. If the applicant receiving SSI, the applicant can quickly check theirs address on file with my Social Security by going to the My Profile tab.
