Apply by mail

  1. To Apply for Advance Processing of an Orphan Petition (Foreign Child Adoption), the applicant has to approach the U.S Citizenship and Immigration Service (Department of Homeland Security) link
  2. The applicant has to download the application form from the following link Listing of Adult Member of the Household link Consent to Disclose Information link
  3. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  4. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  5. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  6. Submit all the essential documents along with the completed application form to the USCIS mailing address.
  7. The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
  8. The fee detail for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a notification through mail or email.
  11. The applicant will get the appointment date through the mail for biometric purposes.
  12. The applicant has to visit the nearest USCIS Application Support Centre on-date of the appointment.
  13. The applicant has to visit the office for further process to complete.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any U.S married person who intends to Apply for Advance Processing of an Orphan Petition (Foreign Child Adoption) is eligible to make this application.



FeesEdit

  • The application fee for Advance Processing of the Orphan Petition is $775.
  • There are no filing fees for Form I-600A/I-600 Supplement 1 or Supplement 2.
  • A biometric services fee of $85 for each applicant (any spouse or any adult member of the household)


NOTE:
  • Payment is done by money order or check.
  • The filing fee and biometric services fee are not refundable.
