Apply In-Person

  1. To apply for Transfer of Goods Carriage Permit in Telangana the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which your area belongs to. Following link can provide you information related to the list of RTO office : RTO office link/html/contact.html
  2. Application forms can be obtained from following link : Application form link
  3. Form PUCA : Form PUCA link
  4. Make sure you have all the necessary documents
  5. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that should be completed and presented along with documents and appropriate fees.
  6. Officials would start processing your application.
  7. Important verifications for the permit includes Vehicle chassis number, legality of the person related etc; will be carried by authorities.
  8. After checking the vehicle for its correctness and other appropriate requirements the application will be processed.

  • Registration Certificate, Fitness Certificate, Insurance Certificate.
  • Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
  • Death certificate of the permit holder.
  • Copy of the letter in which the death of the permit holder was intimated to the competent Authority.
  • An affidavit to the effect that other members of the family do not have any objection for the transfer of the vehicle and the permit in respect thereof to the applicant, duly attested by a notary should be submitted.
  • Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
  • Age proof, Address proof

  • Aadhaar card

ValidityEdit

  • Permit is usually valid for 5 years and remain unchanged if in case of transfer
  • The renewal of permit can be obtained with Vehicle fitness certificate and FC as per authorities of concerned RTO
  • The age of the vehicle is also considered to restrict the validity of the permit
NOTE: Validity differs with the type of vehicle and also for the load the vehicle can manage

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • “Goods Carriage Permit” means a permit granted by authority to a goods carriage vehicle to operate in the specified route.
  • The age of the vehicle should not exceed 12 years to apply for this permit
  • Transfer of goods carriage permit arises whenever the permit holder dies. The legal heir has to get the permit transferred in his name.
  • A regional transport authority may, on an application made to it under Rule 174 (iv) of the Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 grant a goods carriage permit to be valid throughout the State
  • Goods carriage permit is needed for a vehicle operator to ply his vehicle to carry goods from one place to another.
  • Vehicles with this permit……
    • Be used only in a specified area or on a specified route or routes
    • That goods of a specified nature shall not be carried
    • That goods shall be carried at specified rates etc.
