Odisha - How to Pay Electricity Bill

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
In Odisha NESCO Utility, WESCO Utility, SOUTHCO Utility and CESU are carrying out the business of distribution and retail supply of electricity in their licensed areas as mentioned below.
1. NESCO : Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Balasore
2. WESCO : Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bolangir, Bargarh, Deogarh, Nuapara, Kalahandi, Sonepur and Jharsuguda.
3. SOUTHCO : Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Rayagada, Koraput, Nawarangpur and Malkanagiri.
4. CESU : Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Denkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Angul and Kendrapara
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid through
1. Cash counters
2. Online portal
3. Pay through other sources

Tariff:

There are different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill by person at the respective CSCs or Electricity bill counter.: Link for CSC centres: CSC Locator

Go to the respective counter and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

Pay online

CESU Consumers

User shall reach using the following link: online portal link. In the given page, please select Login option from the menu or at the top of the screen.
In the given page, Please use the user name and password and hit “Login” to reach the next page. OR User can select the Quick pay without registration option provided on the right side of the page
1. If not a registered user, then click “Here” next to “If you are new User, Register” below Login tab to reach the registration page.
2. User has to fill in the prompted details and hit “next” to reach the successive page and follow the screen prompt to complete registration. Once sign up is complete, please log in to pay online
In the given page, user has to click select Electricity Bill(For CESU only) option provided on the top to get drop down page.
In the drop down page, select Division name from the drop down menu and fill in Consumer Number, Mobile number, Email id and then enter the captcha in the box provided. Now hit “Submit” at the bottom of the screen after filling the above details.
The resulting page provides details of Electricity bill details. User has to Enter / select the appropriate option to reach the Payment gateway page.
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page (Credit / Debit / Net Banking)
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

Odisha Discoms Payment

Use the online link: online portal to reach the main page.
Please select “Bill Online” menu option from the menu option to get a fresh page.
Here, user shall select LT Consumer or HT/EHT Consumers accordingly
Then enter consumer number and other details as prompted OR enter Consumer name and then select Company (NESCO / WESCO / SOUTHCO) from the drop down menu and hit View /Pay tab to reach next page.
User will be provided with details of consumer, Bill details, Bill amount. Now enter the desired amount to pay followed by mobile number and email .
In the same page user has to select the payment option type listed on the right bottom of the page. Please click select check box to agree terms and condition. After selecting appropriate option hit “Pay Now” to reach Payment gateway page
Here, please make payment using payment gateway option (Credit / Debit / Net banking) applicable for you by selecting the correct option to complete the payment.
An acknowledgement will be generated for the transaction. Please save or print it for future reference.

Other Apps to pay

Users shall use the private App’s to make payment of electricity bill. Please make sure with the respective department officials to confirm about these service providers to make payment.
Electricity bill can be paid through following apps Phonepe, Paytm, Amazon, Freecharge, Mobikwik etc,.

BBPS (Bharath Bill Payment System)

Use the following link to pay at your area BBPS outlet as per pin code: BBPS outlet link
Please select “find nearest Bharat BillPay outlet” option provided at the bottom of the page.
enter your pin code at the box provided and hit “Go” to reach the next page with contact details. Please follow the page to get the details of payment outlet and pay their directly
Use the following link to pay as per your Bank/Non-Bank for Quick Bill Payment: BBPS Quick bill payment option
Please select the Respective electricity department and follow the screen prompt and proceed further to make the payment

Apply through app

To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay link, Phonepe link, amazon pay link, Paytm link.
The applicant has to download the app by using the link.
First the applicant needs to completed the registration process.
For registration enter the mobile number and in registered number the applicant gets the OTP number.
Enter the OTP code and add on the bank account in the app.
For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search for Odisha Electricity Board.
To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
- NOTE: Format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
Now, the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
Enter the UPI password and the payment will be processed.
There is no fee for this app.
The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

EligibilityEdit

The individual should be a resident of the state.
Consumers are eligible to pay the electricity bill.
Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

ValidityEdit

The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
This payment is valid for the consumed electricity units
