Nagaland - How to Pay Electricity Bill

Electricity bill payment for the electricity consumed by a consumer shall be paid to the respective state electricity board (department).
“Nagaland Electricity Regulatory Commission” (NERC) is the electricity regulation board operating within the state of Nagaland. Department of Power, Nagaland (DOPN) is the Web self service to manage bill payment and other services which customer can avail
Payment of electricity bill shall be paid through
1. Offline in Electrical Sub-Division and Cash Counters at sectional level.
2. Online portal – Web Self Service
3. Pay through Mobile App
4. Pay through other sources (Billdesk / NEFT or RTGS / BBPS)

Tariff:

There are different amount charged for residential and commercial users. The rate of per unit charge varies with state to state and as per the slab decided by the respective electricity board.

Pay in person

Consumers shall pay their electricity bill by person at the respective Electrical Sub-Division and Cash Counters at sectional level..: User can call “Customer care” at 03862-237531 to find the nearest bill counter OR Please use our Office Locations & Contacts session to find the contact details

Go to the respective counter and pay your bill amount along with the bill to make payment.
The counter staff will issue you the receipt for the payment made

Pay online – State Portal

Registering

User can register by using the following link: online registration page
Please select “New User” that is provided on the right side of the screen under Submit tab
Please fill in the applicable details as prompted and hit submit in the new window to register oneself.

To pay bill

In order to pay online, please use the following link: online portal link
In the given home page, user has to look for the “Know your Consumer Id” option listed after Welcome to department of Power Nagaland paragraph and click select the option to reach next page
Here, user has to type the consumer number and hit “Next” to get New consumer number. This number is required to pay electricity bill online.
Now use the link provided here online portal link to reach the home page
In the given page, click on the menu option “View & Pay Bill” to get drop down option and then select “Pay Bill”
New page prompts user to enter the Consumer ID, please enter here your consumer Id just obtained and then hit “Submit” to get in to the next page
Here, details pertaining to Consumer number will be displayed. User has to enter his / her email id in the box provided and make sure the details are OK and also read the other descriptions provide at the bottom of the screen. Now please hit “Pay Now” to reach the payment gateway page.
In the payment gateway page, please select the type of payment (Credit / Debit / Net Banking) and provide required details at prompted places and hit make payment to reach the successive page.
User should follow the screen prompt for the payment mode selected to complete online payment transaction.
Once the payment is accepted, user will get a transaction acknowledgement. Please keep it saved or printed for future reference.

Other Apps to pay

Users shall use the private App’s to make payment of electricity bill. Please make sure with the respective department officials to confirm about these service providers to make payment.
Electricity bill can be paid through following apps Phonepe, Paytm, Amazon, Freecharge, Mobikwik etc,.

BBPS (Bharath Bill Payment System)

Use the following link to pay at your area BBPS outlet as per pin code: BBPS outlet link
Please select “find nearest Bharat BillPay outlet” option provided at the bottom of the page.
enter your pin code at the box provided and hit “Go” to reach the next page with contact details. Please follow the page to get the details of payment outlet and pay their directly
Use the following link to pay as per your Bank/Non-Bank for Quick Bill Payment: BBPS Quick bill payment option
Please select the Respective electricity department and follow the screen prompt and proceed further to make the payment

Apply through app

To Pay Electricity Bill, the applicant can download any type of payment app like Gpay link, Phonepe link, amazon pay link, Paytm link.
The applicant has to download the app by using the link.
First the applicant needs to completed the registration process.
For registration enter the mobile number and in registered number the applicant gets the OTP number.
Enter the OTP code and add on the bank account in the app.
For paying electricity bill, the applicant has to search for Manipur Electricity Board.
To link the electricity account in the app, the applicant has to enter the consumer number.
- NOTE: Format of the consumer number – “Regional code, section distribution, and service number.
And enter the name (optional), and add the registered mobile number which is given in the electricity board.
The applicant gets the monthly payment amount.
Now, the applicant has to click the “Pay” button and enter the amount.
Enter the UPI password and the payment will be processed.
There is no fee for this app.
The processing time for this procedure is within a minute.

- Board for which payment is paid
- Aadhaar card
- Consumer address and name

EligibilityEdit

The individual should be a resident of the state.
Consumers are eligible to pay the electricity bill.
Every applicant has to have a meter reading to calculate consumption

FeesEdit

Electricity bills are generated with the slab rates applicable for the units consumed as per the state regulations
As a consumer, it is mandatory to pay prescribed amount as advised by respective board. (even the electricity is not consumed, each states has different default charges levied to its active consumers and the same has to be paid)

ValidityEdit

The electricity bill generated for the period has to be paid before the due date.
There will be a penalty for late payment. Authorities has the power to suspend the connection
This payment is valid for the consumed electricity units

Our everyday life requires electricity more than anything else. So, user has to pay by due date
Government provides electricity connection to those who apply for a new connection.
Electricity should be consumed with responsibility. Because not only the cost counts but also this resource needs proper care to make available for our future generations
