Mizoram - Obtain a Document Writer License or Permit

Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. The license is issued by the licensing authority, namely,
2. The District Registrar, for their own Registration District and Sub-District
3. The Inspector-General of Registration in respect to the entire State.
4. The application form for the Deed writer’s license i.e. “Form No '1' of Schedule C” should be obtained from your nearest Sub - Registrar office. Address Link
5. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The filled in application should be submitted to the Licensing authority in person or via post with necessary fee receipt.
7. The receipt challan should also be attached with the application.
8. The registrar can accept or reject the application after checking the eligibility criteria and will intimate the candidate.
9. If the applicant is eligible, then the document writers license will be approved and issued to the applicant issued by the respective licensing authority.

• Document Writer’s License Passing certificate (If any)
• If retired judicial officer – Particulars of the service.

Eligibility

The eligibility to obtain the document writer license,

• Any retired officer of the Mizoram Judicial Service, Stamp and Registration Department
• Law and Judicial Department of the State of Mizoram, not below the rank of a Group ‘A’ officer.
• Any person who has passed the Writer’s Licensing Test to perform the functions of a “Deed Writer”.

Exceptions: With the recommendation from the District Registrar’s, the Inspector General of Registration can grant license exempting the eligibility for any person or class of persons in any appropriate cases.

Fees

• The information on the fee structure for granting document writer license is provided by the District Registrar and Inspector General of Registration.

Validity

• The document writer license is valid for one year. Every year the license must be renewed two months before the end of the calendar year.
