Apply In-Person:

Those who are in need of a senior citizen card shall approach the office of the welfare of senior citizens department or at the MRO office. If the office is not locatable, then the applicant shall reach the nearest Corporation / Municipal / block development office as appropriate.
The authorities will guide the applicants about the respective office to apply for.

Here click on the menu and sub option as “DIRECTORY / PUBLIC UTILITIES / Municipalities” to reach a page with required contact information for locating the respective authorities office. Also Please look for other menu and sub options as “ABOUT DISTRICT / Who’s Who”.
Once you locate the office contact details, Call them to get any updates for applying.
Visit the office and meet the respective designated staff. Request for the service. Once the staff explains, collect the application form if provided or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.
Submit the completed application form along with the documents that are mandatory for applying.
The submitted application details will be checked and on satisfactory ground, the applicant will be photographed for this procedure. If the photography facility is not in use, the photo submitted will be enough to process.
Once the application is accepted, authorities might provide an acknowledgement or any other receipt for the application accepted. Keep it safe for future reference.
This application will be processed internally. Verification of submitted documents will also be carried.
After successful completion, a Card will be delivered to the applicant through postal or in person as per the applicable norms.
The whole process of issuing the Senior Citizen card will take 7 working days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Apply through Phone Call

You can apply by calling the National Helpline number "14567" for the Elders and they should be able to facilitate you to get a Senior Citizen Certificate or Identity Card.

Apply by post

The applicant shall call up the following number 040-24572984 and confirm about applying over post for getting the senior citizen card.
On confirming, please send your application along with the application form by post to the address mentioned by the authorities. Please find the address below that can be used on their approval..

Aadhaar card
ID card of the applicant (Pension book/ School certificate/ Identity Card issued by competent authority OR Bank passbook with photo)
Residential Proof(Ration cards/Valid Passport/Voter ID card)
Pan card ( For Monthly Pension above Rs.15,000 per month)
Birth certificate / document to prove the age
Residence certificate issued by Competent Authority for the said period as required.

Need for the DocumentEdit

The Government of India provides facilities for citizens above the age of 60 years. In order to avail those facilities one has to get the certificate.
The senior citizen certificate will allow the holder to receive numerous benefits like discounts in Railways, Flights and other benefits from the government.

Information which might helpEdit

Without cross signature(half on paper and half on photograph) and signature on undertaking, the application will be rejected
One has to produce the card to prove the authorities whenever asked for. So, this card must be carried always.

NOTE : It is a punishable offense to try with fraudulent documents to get a Senior citizen certificate
