Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for renewal of passport is available in Tanzania Immigration Headquarters contact link
2. Applicant must provide all information that are requested in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure is mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents along with the application form while submitting it at the office.
6. Fee structure for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the renewal can be done within 1 week.
8. Applicant can visit the office after getting notification from concerned authorities.
9. If there is no information regarding the passport is provided, applicant has to visit the office to know status of application.
   

Apply Online

1. Application form for renewal of passport online is available in the following application link
2. Applicant must click on the “Select Request Type”, under which a drop down will be shown.
3. Applicant must click on “Passport Complete/Corrupted/obtaining an electronic passport” for renewal.
4. Applicant must provide required information under “Phone Number”, “Location of Applicant” etc. and click on “Start Request”.
5. The following page provides an ‘Identity Number’ and a ‘date’ in which the applicant has to visit the office for collecting their passport.
6. Applicant can print that page for reference of their Identity number.
7. Then, they have to click on “Continue with Request”.
8. In the next page, the application form requests several information under “Personal Information”.
9. Applicant must provide all information requested in the application form.
10. Applicant should make sure to attach digital copies of all documents that are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
11. Finally, click on the “Save & Continue” for processing application.
12. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the passport renewal will be done within the mentioned date.
13. At the mentioned date, applicant can visit the office to get their passport.
