Apply In-Person:
- Renewal application for a coffee nursery certificate is done in person by visiting the Agriculture and Food Authority Board Head Offices in Ghana. Refer the following link - contact link
- Licenses issued by the Authority expire on the 30th June of every year and license holders wishing for renewal thereof may apply by 1st June preceding the expiry of the license.
- A coffee nursery certificate holder shall be renewable by 30th June of every year upon payment of the renewal fees.
- Renewal application form should obtain the respective office.
- Also, make sure that the applicant has all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
- The completed renewal application form submitted to the respective office.
- This will be followed by an inspection of applicant by the Board field Officers.
- The Board field officers will make recommendations for renewal of the license and forward their report forwarded to Board’s Headquarters for the ultimate Board approval.
- Upon a successful approval by the board a list of approved/ renewed coffee nursery certificate is published in the Ghana gazette.
- At this point the applicant is notified and he/she will be required to pay the respective license fees as prescribed by the board and submit the receipt as proof of payment.
- Once the license renewal processing is done the renewed coffee nursery certificate is issued to the applicant by the Managing Director of the Agriculture and Food Authority.
- Renewals take a maximum of 30 days to process.

- Application form
- Copy of current Nursery Certificate.
- Identification Cards/ Passport.
- Copy of title deed or certificate of leasehold as proof of ownership land or proprietorship.
- Current certificate of search or other supporting documents.
- Names and address of Directors.
- Proof of Reliable source of clean water.
- Proof accessibility of nursery site for inspection and materials transportation.
- Audited book if accounts and returns of the current year.
- Any other requirements that may be prescribed by the Authority from time to time.

- Any person, cooperative society, group or company with a whose license is expired can apply for this application.
FeesEdit
- Application fees is GHS 1,000 (Non-refundable)
- Certificate fees US$ 1000.
ValidityEdit
- The license is valid for a period of one year.
- The Certificate expires on the 30th June of every year.

- Names and address of two business referees.
Need for the DocumentEdit
- A coffee nursery certificate authorizes the holder to operate a coffee nursery.
- No person can operate a coffee nursery unless he has a valid Coffee Nursery Certificate. Therefore one needs to renew their license to continue with operations.
Information which might helpEdit
- Coffee licenses in the coffee industry expire by the 30th of June of every year and license holders apply to the Board for renewal one month prior to the expiry.
- Applicants can deliver or send hard copies of the application to the Coffee Directorate offices countrywide. Details of the various offices can found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
- In Ghana no person shall, for commercial purposes of buy, sell, pulp, mill, warehouse, export or otherwise deal in or transact any business in coffee unless he holds a current license issued by the Authority or the respective County Government for that purpose.
