Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for obtaining Police resident permit is available in Immigration Services Department, Tanzania contact link
2. Applicant has to provide all information in the application form.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry both photocopies and originals of all documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant must attach photocopies of all documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.
7. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, they will be notified by concerned authorities regarding the permit within 2 months.
8. Applicant can visit the office for getting their permit after getting the notification from concerned authorities.
9. If there is no information regarding the permit is provided by concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

Apply Online

1. Application form for getting resident permit in Tanzania is available in the following login link
2. If the applicant is an existing user, they have to login by providing their “Email” and “Password” and then by clicking on “Login” button.
3. If the applicant is a new user, they have to click on “Create Account” button for registering their details and creating an account.
4. Under the “Create an account” page, applicant has to provide all necessary information and then create a password.
5. Finally, they have to click on “Create account” button at the bottom for successfully registering their details.
6. Once the registration is successful, they can login using their “Email” and “Password”.
7. After logging in, the applicant has to choose “Apply for Residence Permit” option and then provide all necessary information in the online application form.
8. Applicant must upload digital copies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
9. Fee for this procedure can be paid online
10. Finally, the applicant must click on “Submit” button for submitting their information.
11. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the applicant can get a notification within 2 months regarding the permit availability.
12. After getting the notification, applicant can get their permit by either visiting the office or via post.
13. If there is no information regarding the permit is provided by concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.
