Procedure

Apply In person

1. To Apply for immigration Visa in person, the applicant has to approach the Ghana Visa Application Centre (VAC) or Ghana immigration service office -Contact link
2. Then, the applicant must obtain the application form from Ghana Visa Application Centre (VAC) or Ghana immigration service office.
3. Fill up the application form. Do not forget to affix the applicant right thumb print and sign the form.
4. Submit the completed application form along with all other required documents in person to the nearest Immigration office in the applicant locality and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Ask the Immigration officer-in-charge to examine all submitted documents and check to see if the application form was duly completed. Inspection of documents must be done in his/her presence.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Between the immigration office and the visa office his/her application will be processed for issue.
8. The visa Office shall inform his/her in writing in case there are any queries regarding him/her application.
9. His/her visa shall be ready for pick up within 30 days upon submission of the application form and all other required documents.
10. Collect the applicant visa in person from the District or Regional Immigration Office in his/her region.
11. Affix his/her signature on the passport in the presence of the immigration officer when applicants collect his/her visa.
12. Generally, the processing time for this procedure is 15 days.

Eligibility

• This is issued to persons whose nationalities require visa to enter Ghana either for business, tourism, medical or other purposes.
• Children sixteen (16) year and below are exempted from visa payment and are not expected to make visa application.

• East Africa Tourist Visa $101

Validity

• The visas are usually valid for entry within three months from the date of issue.

An immigration visa is a document issued by a country’s consular officer abroad that allows the applicant to travel to the country and apply for admission as a legal permanent resident (LPR). There are several types of visas:

• Single journey Visa
• Multiple journeys Visa
• Transit Visa

It is important to note that: -

• Visa processing fee is nonrefundable.
• Incomplete applications will be rejected.
• The possession of an e-Visa is not the final Authority to enter The Republic of Ghana.
• Engaging in any form of business or employment without a requisite permit or pass is an offence.
• A visa is required prior to entry into The Republic of Ghana.
• The e-Visa printout must be presented at the port of entry.
• It should take at least 2 working days to get your e-Visa.
• Each adult visitor to the Republic of Ghana is required to submit e-Visa applications in their personal e-Citizen account. Parents can apply for their children in the parents account.
