ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for importing Farm feed and Pet food in person, the person who wishes to apply must visit the office of Directorate Agriculture Inputs Control in DAFF.
  2. The respective address and contact details can be found in the following link: Link
  3. Visit the office and obtain an Application for registration of farm feed from the relevant department. Or click here to download: Link
  4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in “Required documents” section of this page.
  5. Complete the application form as required with relevant details. After completing, attach all the documents required with the completed form.
  6. Submit the application form and attached documents to the Registrar at the office of Department. Pay the required fees as directed by the officials.
  7. Also, the application can be sent to the Postal address of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries department office.
  8. After payment of prescribed fees, the application form and required documents will be sent for verification and validation processes correspondingly.
  9. Then, the authorities will perform the necessary processes and proceed for the Registration process if all the requirements have been fulfilled by the applicant.
  10. The applicant will be notified prior to any process or formality that he/she should complete as a part of the application process.
  11. Once all the processes have been completed properly, a Registration document will be issued with prior intimation.

EligibilityEdit

  • Any person living in the RSA and wants to import feed for farms or food for pets from other countries is eligible to apply.
  • The product for which import permit is sought must have undergone an analysis in an accredited laboratory and granted a Certificate of analysis before applying.
