Apply In-Person:
- To apply for getting film and television incentives in person, the person has to visit the office of Department of Trade, Industry and Corporation.
- The address and contact details of the DTIC can be found in the following link: Link Refer to the bottom of the page.
- Visit the office of DTIC and get the application form to apply for getting film and television incentives from the relevant department. Or click here to download: Link
- Complete the form as required with relevant details. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page.
- After completing the application form, take a printout of the form and attach all the documents required for the process with the completed form.
- Then, proceed to submit the package to the relevant authority at the office for further processes. Make the payment as necessary.
- After all the processes have got completed, the concerned authorities will proceed to make the arrangements for the grant process.
- The applicant can obtain any information regarding the progress of his/her request, from the office where the application has been made.

- The applicant must be in compliance with Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE)
- Productions must have a minimum QSAPE of R1.5 million for all qualifying production formats and a minimum of R500 000 for documentaries.

InstructionsEdit
- Any dispute relating to a decision (including the rejection of an application, cancellation or reduction of a claim) taken by the DTIC is limited to one internal appeal per application lodged. Such an appeal must be submitted within 30 days of the letter of notification.
- No appeals of any decision (application or claim related) will be entertained beyond the 30-day period from the issue date of the communication or letter.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- The South African government offers a package of incentives to promote its film production and post-production industry.
- The incentives consist of the Foreign Film and Television Production and Post-Production incentive to attract foreign-based film productions to shoot on location in South Africa and conduct post-production activities, and the South African Film and Television Production and Co-Production incentive, which aims to assist local film producers in the production of local content.
