Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Community Sound Broadcasting Licence, the applicant must go to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa’s (ICASA) office. Contact Link
- The application form must be obtained from the authorities at the ICASA office, else the application form can be downloaded from the official website linked here. Application Form Link
- Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The application form must be filled with all the necessary details, and along with the required documents, it must be submitted to the respective officer in the ICASA department.
- The authorities will verify the application and the documents submitted by the applicant.
- Then the application will be forwarded to the SATRA for analysing the business plan.
- After verification, if all the details are legitimate then the Community Sound Broadcasting Licence will be will be approved combinedly by the ICASA and SATRA.
- The complete fee details for the license application are given in the “Fees” section of this page.
- The processing time to get the Community Sound Broadcasting Licence will take approximately 6 to 12 months.
