Singapore does not have an official ‘Pet Passport’, however it is a term used to describe the documents that are required to take a pet to Singapore. Customs officials will need to see these documents in order to clear your pet in customs. Essentially, a pet passport demonstrates that your pet is fit and healthy to travel.
Apply In Person
- The following steps are involved to travel or transport the pet.
Step :1 - Research
- The process will depend on the species of your pet, and where you are traveling from. Therefore, ensure you are aware of the specific requirements for taking your pet to Singapore. It’s also important to check that your pet is allowed to be imported to Singapore, as they have very strict rules, prohibiting many pets visiting.
Step:2 – visit the veterinarian
- Most pets will require a microchip, vaccinations, parasite treatments and a rabies blood test. However, the requirements vary depending on your pet’s species and home country.
Step:3 – Organize a quarantine is necessary
- If the pet requires a stay in Singapore pet quarantine, the applicant must reserve them a spot. The applicant can book this online at the Quarantine Management System (QMS) link
Step:4 – Apply for dog and import permit
- The applicant will need to apply for an import permit or import license at least 30 days before importing pets to Singapore.
- The applicant can apply the for dog license or import permit via gobusiness licensing portal link
Step:5 - Book an inspection for your dog or cat
- The applicant will need to book this via the Intelligent Food Approval & Safety Tracking System (iFAST) link five days before the animal’s arrival, or earlier.

- Perro de Presa Canario
- Crosses of the above
Following breed of cats are not allowed in Singapore:
- 4th-generation (& below) Bengal & Savannah cat crosses
