Apply In Person
- To Renew Public Entertainment License, the applicant has to approach the SCOTLAND LOCAL COUNCIL link
Note: The applicant must select their Local council from the drop-down menu.
- The applicant has to contact the officer for the application process.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Provide a comprehensive event plan that outlines the details of the event, including the schedule, activities, facilities, security arrangements, and measures to ensure public safety. The applicant may also need to submit a risk assessment identifying potential hazards and how they will be mitigated.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- If the renewal application is approved, the local licensing authority will issue the renewed Public Entertainment License, allowing the applicant to proceed with the event as planned.
- This entire process can be completed within 2 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- The PEL is valid for three years and must be renewed before it expires. To renew the applicant’s PEL, he/she will need to apply to his/her local authority at least six months before the expiry date of his/her current license.
