- To Apply for Disability Living Allowance, the applicant has to approach the Personal Independence Payment link
- The applicant can request an application form by calling the DLA helpline on 0800 121 4600.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- Also, the applicant has to attend a medical assessment.
- There is no fee for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- If the claim is successful, the applicant will receive regular payments to help with the extra costs associated with the disability or health condition.
- This entire process can be completed within 12 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

EligibilityEdit
To be eligible:
- Age: The applicant must be between the ages of 16 and state pension age to claim PIP.
- Residence: The applicant must be living in Scotland at the time of your claim.
- Health Condition: The applicant must have a long-term health condition or disability that has a significant impact on daily life.
- Duration: The applicant must have had this condition for at least three months and expect it to continue for at least nine months.
- Care and mobility needs: The applicant must require help with everyday tasks such as washing, dressing, cooking or getting around, or the applicant must have difficulties with mobility.
