Apply In-Person:

To Apply for ASTHRDP (Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program), the applicant has to approach the university where they intends to secure scholarship link
Note: The applicant has to click “Where To Secure Or File Application” to know the details of university.
An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. Or the applicant has to download the application form from the following link
The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
The fee for this procedure is free of cost.
After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
The entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

Endorsement from:

MS- From 2 former college professors
PhD - From 2 former professors in the Master’s Program
If employed, recommendation and permission from head of agency to take a leave of absence while on scholarship or proof of resignation or termination of contract;
Career Plans (Form A)
Research Plans (Form B)
Medical Certificate stating that applicant is of good health condition and fit to study from a licensed physician with his/her PRC license number indicated (Form C);
Valid NBI Clearance;
Letter of Admission with Regular status from the Program Head of the accepting institution and copy of the Admission Evaluation Sheet and;
Approved Program of Study.

Additional Requirements for Lateral Applicants

Certification from university indicating the following:
number of graduate units required in the program
number of graduate units earned with corresponding grades

EligibilityEdit

An applicant must:

Be a Filipino citizen;
Not be more than 50 years old at the time of application;
Be in good health condition;
Pass the admission requirements for graduate studies at any of the NSC member-universities and;
Pass the interview and other screening procedures.

The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority’s request.

Need for the DocumentEdit

ASTHRDP is a unified and innovative human resource program aimed at accelerating the production of high-level human resources by awarding MS and PhD scholarship grants to eligible individuals who will fill in the gaps in identified areas of science and technology. Together with DOST councils and other higher education institutions, the ASTHRD is implemented by awarding students’ free tuition and other school fees, stipends, book allowances, group accident insurance, thesis or dissertation funding, and transportation allowance for those who will study outside their home province.
