ProcedureEdit

This service is provided by the Food Safety Department, which allows food importers/clearance companies to fill in a foodstuff rejection certificate request.

Apply In-Person

  1. The applicant for the foodstuff rejection certificate has to make an application in person to the Food Safety Department, of the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH). This can be done by visiting their Healthoffice to make the application. Contact details of the mentioned ports can be found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” of this page.
  2. Here you will be given a Request for Foodstuff Rejection Certificate form to fill and submit. The form can also be obtained by clicking on the “E-service” button from the following MOPH Website page and filled beforehand.
  3. Fill in the required information correctly and submit the form.
    • Make sure you choose “Rejection” at the beginning of the application.
  4. Once done, an e-payment link will be sent via text message to your phone or e-mail address.
  5. Click on the link and follow the steps for online payment.
    • Payment is done via credit card or debit card.
  6. Upon successful completion of the payment process, you will receive a text message or email confirming the success of the transaction and containing the payment receipt.
    • Print the payment receipt.
  7. Submit the receipt along with the consignment documents at the concerned port official to complete the issuance of the rejection certificate.
  8. The required documents are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  9. Once the documents are submitted the Ministry of Public Health inspectors will carry out inspection of the foodstuff to determine if the prescribed safety standards are met or not and if it can be rejected.
  10. Once the inspection and rejection are complete, and everything is in order, the Ministry of Public Health inspectors will issue the required certificate.
