Qatar - Request for Customs Exemption for goods of Diplomatic and Consular Missions and Offices Accredited to State and their Members

Diplomatic and consular missions, as well as offices accredited to the State and their members, may submit a request to the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to exempt their goods from customs duties.
Apply In-Person
- Diplomatic missions and their members may submit an application to the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to import goods free from custom duties.
- This is done by visiting the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in person to make the application. Here will be issued with a “Request for exemption from customs duties for goods of diplomatic and consular missions and offices accredited to State and their members” form to fill and submit. This form can also be downloaded from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs MOFA Website or it can be downloaded from the following link : Request for exemption from customs duties for goods of diplomatic and consular missions and offices accredited to State and their members
- Fill in the form electronically and print the filled-in application form.
- Attach the required documents to the application form and submit them to the Protocol Department Offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These documents include:
- A letter to the Department to facilitate the entry of the shipment for the official use of the embassy / Or for the personal use of a member of the diplomatic mission, stating the shipment details in terms of number and type of parcels.
- A copy of the bill of lading.
- A copy of the establishment registration card of the diplomatic mission.
- A copy of the diplomatic card of the member of the mission.
- The Protocols Department’s officials will go through the application and if everything is in the order they will begin processing the customs exemption permit.
- All the required condition should be met before submitting the application form.
- The application process may take a period of two to three days to complete.
- Once ready the applicant will be notified to visit the Protocol Department Offices to be issued with a permit for customs exemption.
- The permit is issued free of charge.
