Applying process in Monaco for citizen and non-citizen.

- To Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Department of Justice – link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The fee for this clearance certificate is Eur 1.36
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. #If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
- Also, set the fingerprint in the request paper from the police office.
- Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The applicant has to visit the office to get the clearance certificate.
- This entire process can be completed within 1 or 2 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
- The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
- Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.

- Applicants should apply for an Extrait de casier judiciaire by providing a written request indicating the full names of their parents (including their mothers maiden name), an official identity document, as well as payment of the applicable fees.
- Non-residents must specify the dates of their residence in Monaco.

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.
Police certificate is also known as good citizen certificate, good conduct certificate, police clearance certificate, or judicial record extracts. Applicants may have to submit fingerprints and certain personal information to request a criminal record check, and the police or government agency may charge a fee. If no record found, the police certificate will indicate such.
A police certificate is issued to any former or present resident by the Mayor of Monaco and is based upon a report from the Police of the section of the Principality where the applicant is residing. In the case of former residents the certificate also indicates the length of the interested person's actual residence in Monaco.
