Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for reporting Safety Issues related to power (Electricity) in person, the applicant should first contact the Distribution Company through the following Safety Officers of various Discos (Distribution Company).
2. The contact numbers of the Safety officers can be found in the following contact link
3. Subsequently, the matter should be informed to the Customer Complaint Unit (CCU) at the respective Distribution Company whose address and contact details can be found in the following contact links
4. The information should be made in writing and submitted at the Customer Complaint Unit (CCU) in the respective Distribution Company.
5. If the Disco delays/fails to clear the fault, the affected communities shall reach out to the nearest NERC Forum Office to escalate their concerns whose address and contact numbers can be found in the following contact link
6. On receipt of the application, relevant officials will proceed to urge the technical persons to look upon the reported safety issues.
7. Then, the safety officers will analyse the issues and take applicable actions for resolving the safety issues.

• The safety issues include Sagged Conductors, Tilted Poles, Unfenced Substations/Exposed Feeder Pillars, wrongful use of Solid Link fuses, Vegetation on Lines & Substation, Partial Contact/Arcing on Joints, Cobwebs, etc.

Any customer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission who experiences any of the following safety issues like Sagged Conductors, Tilted Poles, Unfenced Substations/Exposed Feeder Pillars, wrongful use of Solid Link fuses, Vegetation on Lines & Substation, Partial Contact/Arcing on Joints, Cobwebs, etc. must report it to the safety department of the Commission, so that the issue is resolved by the technical officers of NERC.
