Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for renewing Registration of Cargo Agents in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
2. The address and contact details of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) can be found in the following link: contact link
3. Visit the NCAA office with an application made in writing and duly signed by a person authorised by the applicant to request for renewal of Cargo agents registration.
4. Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Pay the required non-refundable processing fee tothe Authority as stipulated and also attach the receipt of payment with the application form.
6. Then, proceed to submit the application package to the Director General at the office in person for further processes.
7. After submission, the completed form and corresponding documents will be put into further verification and validation processes.
8. Once all the processes got completed, the authorities will make necessary steps for the renewed Registration Certificate issuance process.
9. When the document is ready to be collected, the applicant will be informed through phone call or email and asked to collect it by any applicable means.

Eligibility

• Any Cargo Agents Registration holder in Nigeria, whose registration needs renewal, can apply.
• The applying entity must have properly maintained returns on the registrationand Certificates of completed refresher courses for the operations staff.
  

Fees

Non-refundable processing fee:N50,000.00

Validity

The Certificate shall be renewed with a validity of two (2) years

Instructions

• Returns on Agent’s activities in the past two (2) years, should not be limited to the tonnage of cargo processed, both imports and exports and Addresses of new offices (if any).
• The operations staff should have attended refresher courses during the period of the previous registration validity, especially in the handling of Dangerous Goods and special cargoes.
• The facilities of the Cargo shed shall be inspected by officers of the Authority prior to the renewal of the Certificate.
• Provided that the Cargo agent has fulfilled the above conditions and has conducted its activities satisfactorily, the Certificate shall be renewed with a validity of two (2) years.

Need for the Document

Every registration certificate of a Cargo agent or Air forwarder in Nigeria must be renewed once in every validation period by completing a prescribed format by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.
