Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Import Base Metals and Articles in person, the applicant should contact the Mauritius Agricultural Services. Contact link

6. The Mauritius Agricultural Services will review the application to ensure that all necessary information and documents are presented to make an informed decision and may request additional information or documents if further details are required.
7. If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued with an Import Permit which will be valid for a specified period and must be presented, along with all other required documents, to the relevant authorities at the port or airport of departure.
8. The applicant will be required to pay the applicable fees and the fees details can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
9. The applicant will then be required to arrange for the shipment of the Base Metals and Articles to their destination. The applicant should also ensure that all necessary documentation, including the Import Permit, is presented to the relevant authorities at the port or airport of departure.
10. Upon arrival at the destination, the applicant should ensure that Base Metals and Articles are inspected by the local authorities and the necessary documentation is presented to them.
11. The applicant should also ensure that all necessary measures are taken to ensure that the Base Metals and Articles reach their destination in a safe and suitable condition.
