Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To obtain a contract car licence, you should make your application to the National Land Transport Authority (NLTA). Please view the NLTA contact information through this link Contact details.
2. Call at the NTA Head Office schedule suitable date for making your application for the license.
3. Then obtain the application form in person at the NLTA office. Note that for the first application, you will have to apply for a minimum of three cars.
4. Read and complete the form accordingly and then prepare all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach the documents to the application form.
5. Then visit the NLTA office of the date scheduled and submit your application for the three cars to the NLTA official at service desk.
6. The official will verify your application to confirm of the application form is completed correctly and if you have provided all the required documents.
7. Upon the verification process, you will be issued with the acknowledgement receipt of your application.
8. Then pay the application fee for each car at the cashier and obtain the payment receipt.
9. Then your application will be forwarded to the relevant officials for assessment and you will be convened by the NLTA for hearing regarding your application.
10. The authority will evaluate your application and the hearing report and it your application is successful; you will be informed by the authority through your contact details.
11. You will then be required to call at the Licensing Section of the NLTA for conditions of implementation, fees applicable for implementation and renewal of licence details.
12. Proceed and implement all three licences at one go and later on, you may apply for additional licences one at a time if you wish so. Note that you can implement contract car licences on new or second-hand imported vehicles which are less than 2 years old.
13. Upon the implementation, you will be issued with the contract car license.

• National Identity Card (Original + 1 copy)
• Birth Certificate (Original + 1 copy)
• Marriage Certificate – applicable for married woman only (Original + 1 copy)

Company

• Certificate of Incorporation (Original + 1 copy)

Other documents

• A recommendation from a Hotel, Tour Operator or Travel Agency to support the application.
• A feasibility report on the project.
• Rough sketch showing the exact location of the base of operation
