NIGERIA - PAY ELECTRICITY BILLS

Pay In-Person

  1. To pay ELECTRICITY bills in Nigeria visit the ELECTRICITY BOARD in your area
  2. The address ad contact details of the office can be found in the following link: contact link
  3. Visit the Office and ask for the relevant counter to pay electricity bills.
  4. Process your payment by showing your electricity bill and your EB number along with the card if given.
  5. Please pay the correct required amount without any mistake to the relevant authority.
  6. Now when your payment is done receive your payment reference ID for further reference.


Pay Online

  1. To pay your electricity bill through online, please select your convenient payment mode i.e., via bank/ ATM/ Card.
  2. Then select your Contract type and your respective electricity board [EKO/ KANO/ IKEDC/ IBEDC/ PORT HARCOUT].
  3. Now enter your Electricity Account Number/ Meter Number correctly.
  4. Then enter your bill amount and click next to proceed the process.
  5. Now on the opened page choose your payment mode and pay your electricity bill.
  6. After successful transaction a reference id will be sent to your registered mobile number. This indicates your payment is done.

To ensure quality service delivery, it is pertinent that electricity customers know their rights as follows:

  • All customers have a right to transparent electricity billing.
  • All Un-metered customers should be issued with electricity bills strictly based on NERC’s estimated billing methodology.
  • It is the customer’s right to be notified in writing ahead of disconnection of electricity service by the DisCo serving the customer in line with NERC’s guidelines.
  • All customers have a right to refund when over billed.
  • All customers have a right to file complaints and to the prompt investigation of complaints.
