ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for obtaining license to operate a Private Museum in person, the applicant has to visit the office of Nigerian National Museum.
  2. The address and contact details of the Nigerian National Museum can be found in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
  3. Visit the office and obtain the application form for obtaining license to operate a Private Museum, from the relevant department.
  4. Complete the application forms with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
  5. Once completed filling the application form, make sure that you attached all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office. Make the stipulated payment as directed by the officials.
  7. After submission, the application and attached documents will be assessed and verified by the respective officials.
  8. The authorities may arrange for an inspection of the premises of the Museum for verifying whether the place is suitable to establish a Museum.
  9. Then, the inspection report will be assessed for making sure that the place is suitable.
  10. If everything is found sufficient and suitable, the authorities will proceed to issue a license to operate a Private Museum.
  11. Once the license is ready for collection, the applicant will be notified through phone or email and informed to collect the license.
