Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for obtaining a Gun License in person, the applicant must visit the office of Police Commissioner in his/her state.

3. Visit the office of Police Commissioner and make a request that you want to apply for a Gun license to the relevant official.
4. The concerned official will issue you an application form for Gun license. Complete the application form with all the required information as asked.
5. After completing, submit the application form along with all the documents listed in the “Required documents” section of this page to the Commissioner of Police.
6. Then, you have to buy a gun from a nearest gun dealer and provide the serial number of the gun to the police which they will register on their records.
7. The application and attached documents will be go through step-by-step verification and validation processes.
8. If the application and corresponding documents are found sufficient, the officials will proceed to take required actions for the issuing the license.
9. Once the license is ready to be collected, the applicant will be contacted and asked to collect it by any applicable means.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be physically fit and mentally stable.
• He/she must have a clean criminal record.

Instructions

• The sanity report should speak on the mental health of the applicant in order to make sure that he/she is rationally able.
• The physical fitness report should indicate the dimensions and strength of the applicant’s chest to check whether he/she is fit to be protected from the sharp retraction that occurs when a bullet is fired.
• The applicant is also required to submit a sufficient reason and provide the purpose of possessing of a firearm.
