Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for getting approval for Insurance Company in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the National Insurance Commission of Nigeria.

3. As preliminary step, the applicant should prepare a letter of Intent and submit it to the NAICOM office.
4. In response to the letter, the commission will request a set of documents and information which can be found in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. After that, the applicant should visit the office and obtain a Registration Application Form from the relevant department.
6. The registration form should be completed as required and submitted along with some required documents to the office.
7. The next stage is the verification stage in which the commission will verify the financial stability and technical competence of the company.
8. Therefore, documents depicting the above mentioned criteria will be required by the Commission.
9. Once, everything provided by the applicant is found sufficient, the application will have to sit for a Pre-registration interview.
10. After that, the notice of registration is made public by appropriate publication in an applicable way.
11. If the notice did not get any opposition, a letter of success is issued to the applicant and the applicant will be prompted to pay the registration fees at this stage.
12. The applicant should make the payment and submit the proof of payment at the office and on receipt of the payment proof, the applicant is issued with the Certificate of Registration.
