Apply In-Person:
- To apply for changing name of a Non-Governmental Organization in person, the applicant has to visit the office of the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria.

- Before proceeding to apply, the company’s Board of Directions must have passed a Board Resolution proposing the name change.
- Then, a Special Resolution should have been made at a general meeting regarding the change of company name.
- After the meeting, required changes must have done in the company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association.
- Once all these have been done, visit the office and conduct a name search at the office with the help of the official in-charge over there.
- Obtain an application for Change of company name as required from the relevant department.
- Make sure that you have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- Now, complete the form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with your signature once completed.
- Then, pay the applicable fees as directed to the relevant bank account. Find the information regarding payment in the office website or contact the office.
- The applicant should also pay the Annual Returns that are due, to the Corporate Affairs Corporation.
- After paying the fees, attach all the required documents with the completed application and submit it to the relevant official at the office.
- Then, the application will be forwarded to the concerned authorities for further verification processes.
- Once the verification and validation processes are over, the application will be approved and the officials will proceed to take required steps for the Change of company name.
- After completion of all required processes, the applicant will be notified to visit the office and issued with the Incorporation Certificate with the changed name.

InstructionsEdit
- It is important that the completed form must contain all the information required properly and the form must be filled legibly, in order to get accepted by the Authority.
- On receiving your application, the CAC will advertise the notice of Business name change in its official Gazette if the application and all the documents attached are found in order.
- In case if there are no objections for the notice, the Commission will approve your application and issue a new Certificate of Incorporation.
