Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. Any employer who has an employee who is the victim of an industrial accident must declare it to the labour inspectorate office and the INPS so that he can benefit from compensation for the damage suffered.
2. In the absence of the employer the victim can take this step by visiting the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL PREVOYANCE {INPS} branch agency offices near you and express your interest at the customer service desk and;

   • Collect necessary forms and accurately fill them;
   • Attach all the required documents (see required document below); and
   • Submit the documents to be verified and recorded.

3. The attending officer will then verify the application file, if he/she is satisfied that the application file is in order, the file is registered and you will be issued with a receipt indicating the date of withdrawal of the response to the request.
4. Depending on the seriousness of the accidents and illnesses, the INPS may require the intervention of the Labour Inspectorate; the Labour Inspectorate conducts an investigation and draws up a report, the results of which will be decisive for the compensation.
5. Revisit the INPS on the schedule pick up date as indicated on the withdrawal receipt for the outcome and further instruction on the compensation

Required Documents

• A medical certificate stating the injuries
• A report of the report for traffic accidents
• A company accident log, provided by the INPS
• A declaration of an accident or occupational disease in 3 copies
• A certificate of extension, if applicable
• A medical certificate of healing or consolidation
• A copy of the accident victim's identity card
• The pay slip for the month preceding the accident.
