Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Stevedoring operations in person, the applicant has to visit the office of respective terminal operator.
2. Various terminal operators list and their website links can be found in the following contact link
3. Visit the office of respective terminal operator office and obtain an application form for Stevedoring operations from the relevant department.
4. Make sure that you have all the required documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Complete the application form as required with the necessary information and attest with your signature.
6. Then, attach the documents required with the completed form proceed to submit it to the concerned official at the Office for further verification and application processing.
7. Also, pay the required fees for the application process at the office as directed by the officials.
8. After submission, Dock Labour contracted by the Stevedore, carry out Discharge/Loading Operations on the Vessel and produces TallyRecordsat the end of each Operation.
9. Cargo Surveyors then verifies cargo volume by volumetric calculations and the Tally Records, after which a Cargo Survey Report is produced for Nigerian Ports Authority for both Discharge and Loading operations.

Any Shipping Company/Agent in Nigeria that requires to do Discharge and Loading operations of its vessel, can apply.

Stevedoring is done when the cargo shipping vessel needs to load or unload at the Terminal, with appropriate documentation and fees payment.
