#To apply for a Residence Status the applicant has to approach the Immigration Department of the British Virgin Islands. Office location and contact information are provided below.<br />
#The application that has been obtained from the Immigration office has to be completed and submitted with supporting documents that are listed under the ''Required Documents'' section of this page.<br />
#After processing the application a denial or an approval information is sent to the applicant.<br />
#If approved, the applicant then present himself/herself to the Immigration Department to make payment on the fees. A receipt of the transaction made will be provided to the customer as proof of payment for service. <br />
#Status Unit issues the Belonger Card and Certificate to the applicant.<br />
#If denied, applicant can make relevant changes and reapply.<br><br><br />

Notes : An applicant for permanent residence must reside in the Virgin Islands consecutively for a period of 20 years before application can be considered. An applicant can only be absent from the Territory for 90 days in any calendar year except when pursuing further education or as a result of illness. Applicant must state in his/her application his/her intentions for residing permanently in the Territory Dependents who are endorsed on their parents certificate should apply for their own certificates six months before their eighteenth birthday, if they wish to continue residing, permanently.<br />
