Note that T1 can only be generated after the release order has been issued. Once the T1 is submitted for validation, the customs officer of the office of departure is notified so they can fill in the necessary information (customs seal number, number of seals affixed on the container, time limit before reaching the destination office), and finally validate for departure.

::*Once the goods are at the exit border, the customs officer will check the documents accompanying the goods and whether seals and number plate written on the T1 correspond with the truck information. If the information is matching, the customs officer approves in the system the goods arrival option, and adds signature and stamp on the T1, allowing the consignment to leave the country.

*Payment can be made online on Rwanda Revenue Authority account at any of the commercial banks that provide that service, and via MTN Mobile Money, by selecting payment (*3) and Rwanda Revenue (*6).Once the payment is made, the Customs office gets an automatic notification in the electronic single window system so they can produce the release documents right away.
