# To make an application for Changing / Updating or Modifying a resident’s details in Qatar, the applicant needs to make an application to the Expatriates Affairs Department of the Ministry of Interior. # You can do this by visiting the Expatriates Affairs Department offices in person. Here you will be issued with a “Resident Data Modification Form” form to fill and submit. This form can also be downloaded from the Ministry of Interior [https://portal.moi.gov.qa/wps/portal/MOIInternet/MOIHome MOI Website] or it can be downloaded from the following link : [https://portal.moi.gov.qa/wps/wcm/connect/ba52b870-de5f-4bfe-839a-d931ca75b486/Resident+Data+Modification+Form.pdf?MOD=AJPERES Resident Data Modification form]
#:* Tick against the on the type of change you want to make option on the top right-hand side and left-hand side of the application form, before filling in the application form.
#:* This can either be:
#::(i) Change of Nationality
#::(i) Change of occupation,
#::(i) Change of employee’s name,
#::(i) Change of date of birth,
#::(i) Change of passport details,
#::(i) Change of name,
# Fill in the form correctly and mention new and past information clearly (depending on the nature of the modification)
#Make the required payments for the renewal of the residence card.
# Attach the acknowledgement receipt and the required documents explained in the important notes section in the [https://portal.moi.gov.qa/wps/wcm/connect/ba52b870-de5f-4bfe-839a-d931ca75b486/Resident+Data+Modification+Form.pdf?MOD=AJPERES form] according to each request and submit them to the Expatriates Affairs Department Offices of the Ministry of Interior. The required documents are also mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
# Department’s officials will go through your change / Update / Modification application and if everything is in order they will begin the modification process of the Resident details.
# The application process takes a period of one day before the modified / Updated information is updated in the MOI system database.
# Once ready the applicant will be notified to collect the new residence permit/card reflecting the new information.

* A fee of QR200 applies to modify resident’s details.

==Validity==
* The modified information has forever validity unless changed again by the resident.
* The permit is valid for one year or three years depending on the application.
