==Eligibility==
Following listed are the persons entitled to receive the family state benefit and the supplement to the family state benefit for a disabled child: citizens, non-citizens of Latvia, foreigners, and stateless persons living in Latvia who have received a personal identity number. 

Note : The benefit is not granted to persons who have received a temporary residence permit.
 

The family state benefit is granted to: 
*One of the childs parents.
*Guardian or adopter.
*Actual raiser of the child who has been established by the courts decision.
*The child him or her-self after the age of 18 years if prior to that he or she has been under guardianship.
 

*The benefit is granted for each child raised in the family from when the child becomes one year old until the age of 15.

The application for granting of the family state benefit and the supplement must be submitted not later than within 12 months from the moment when the right is created. If the benefit is applied for later it is granted only for the previous 12 months prior to the application for the benefit.
