#Complete the following form, and include supporting documentation, to create an account should be submitted to the Mining Cadaster office for processing and users will be trained on how to use the Mining Cadaster Portal system upon approval.&lt;br /&gt;
#Once the Ministry of Mining has processed the application, a user profile will be created in the Mining Cadastre Portal, and an email sent to the user&amp;#039;s registered email address with a link to set a User name &amp;amp; password for the first time.&lt;br /&gt;
#However; respective mining applicants who do not have minerals rights or pending applications will be able to register online to use the system via this link [https://portal.miningcadastre.go.ke/Site/CustomHtml.aspx?PageID=b4ee5d9b-c6da-412f-a78a-2db607d7fa1c Register for Portal Access] click on “Register Account” under “I wish to make Mineral Dealing license applications”.&lt;br /&gt;
#Complete the online registration form and attach the either supporting documentation listed below before submitting the application for processing.&lt;br /&gt;
#*Proof of identity (National Identity Card / Passport)&lt;br /&gt;
#*If an employee or agent, a Letter of Authority is signed by a company director authorizing the individual to act on behalf of the company or person.&lt;br /&gt;
#A user profile will be automatically created in the Mining Cadastre Portal and an email sent to the user&amp;#039;s registered email address with a link to set a password for the first time.&lt;br /&gt;
#The Mining Cadaster office will then verify the submitted documents and application, and if no problems are detected, A user profile will be automatically created in the Mining Cadastre Portal and an email sent to the user&amp;#039;s registered email address with a link to set a password for the first time to be able to sign in to the portal.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Step 2: Apply for the Retention License&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&lt;br /&gt;
#Before proceeding with the application process applicant are required to first make payment for the Application processing fee for the Retention license of Ksh 50,000.00 as per the Authority preference and save the proof of payment as a PDF.&lt;br /&gt;
#Once logged in to the [https://portal.miningcadastre.go.ke/Site/Login.aspx?PageID=d7b17301-a708-4574-bbcd-0e357550db18 Mining Cadastre Portal] successfully your license profile page will be displayed.&lt;br /&gt;
#Click for “Apply for a new License”,  on the application page, select “Retention license” under the “Type” drop list, then “select the commodities” you wish to prospect.&lt;br /&gt;
#Upload the listed supporting documentation as listed on the site by doing the following:&lt;br /&gt;
#*Ensure all your files have different names&lt;br /&gt;
#*For large file(s), you can reduce the file size by compressing the file e.g. using a PDF COMPRESSOR.&lt;br /&gt;
#*Click on the Browse button. Go to where the document is saved, select it, and then click “Open”.&lt;br /&gt;
#*Once you have browsed and selected all the required Files, click on “Upload Files”&lt;br /&gt;
#Applicants will then be required to enter or upload their coordinates in the correct format.&lt;br /&gt;
#The application will be validated for missing documents and overlap with existing licenses.&lt;br /&gt;
#On the next page, the applicant will be required to confirm the application fee amount before continuing to the “submit proof of payment” page.&lt;br /&gt;
#Enter the payment references and upload the proof of payment PDF, Once proof of payment is submitted, payment will be pending until a ministry of mine official confirms that it has been received by their Bank, then click on the “Submit” button&lt;br /&gt;
#The applicant will be notified by email within seven (07) days if there is any missing documentation, in such a case applicant will be required to re-submit the application along with proof of payment of another application fee.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Step 3: Obtain a Mineral Right Offer Letter&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&lt;br /&gt;
#Upon receipt of the application request, the Mining Rights Board will start the vetting process, to ensure that the applicant meets the licensing requirements and either recommend /not recommend the application for the award of a license.&lt;br /&gt;
#Following the outcome of the board, the Authority shall in accordance with the board decision perform the following tasks:&lt;br /&gt;
#*Where the application is not recommended for award of a license, official communication shall be prepared to inform the Applicant of the reasons the application was not successful and the requirements for the applications to be processed further, if applicable; and&lt;br /&gt;
#*Where the application is recommended for award of a license, he will be issued with a Mineral Right Offer Letter to respond accordingly.&lt;br /&gt;
#*Where the board directs that the application be subjected to further processes prior to being recommended for license award, the applicant shall be accordingly updated if necessary.&lt;br /&gt;
#The applicant will be required to login their Mining Cadaster Portal, to access the Mineral Right Offer Letter, and if he agrees with the term of the offer, he is required to confirm area coordinates, submit an acceptance letter, and share proof of payment of Ksh 2,500.00 per square kilometer Fee for retention license.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Step 4: Collect the License for Stamp duty&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&lt;br /&gt;
#This is followed by the investor being issued with two copies of the Retention permit for stamp duty valuation and payment at the Mining Cadaster office.&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Step 5: Payment of the Stamp Duty&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&lt;br /&gt;
#The investor should then proceed and make payment for the stamp duty at the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, Ardhi House (Stamp Duty Assessment Desk).&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Step 6: Registration of the Stamp Retention permit&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&lt;br /&gt;
#Submit the Stamped Retention permit (2 copies) to the Mining Cadaster office, for registration and obtain a registered Retention license against your identification document.&lt;br /&gt;
#The time frame accumulatively for processing the application is usually 48 days.&lt;br /&gt;

*Identity card (copy) for local directors or Passport (copy) For foreign directors&lt;br /&gt;
*The tax compliance certificate (copy) should be valid for that year.&lt;br /&gt;
*List of shareholders and directors- CR 12 (copy) should be not older than 12 months and the shareholding should be at least 60% locally owned.&lt;br /&gt;
*Landowners consent (original).&lt;br /&gt;
*Bank statement (copy) for the last 6 months showing the availability of funds to implement the proposed mining operations program OR&lt;br /&gt;
**Audited accounts (copy) should be the latest and should show evidence of financial resources to implement the mining operations. OR&lt;br /&gt;
**Bank guarantee (original).&lt;br /&gt;
*Company profile (copy)&lt;br /&gt;
*List of equipment and specifications (original).&lt;br /&gt;
*Curriculum vitae (copy) of key personnel for project supervision.&lt;br /&gt;
*Academic certificates (copy) of key personnel for project supervision.&lt;br /&gt;
*Proposal for employment and training of Kenyans (original) showing the approximate budget for each cadre.&lt;br /&gt;
*Proposal for procurement of goods and services showing approximate budget for each item/service.&lt;br /&gt;
*Environmental rehabilitation and restoration plan (original).&lt;br /&gt;
*Prospecting operations program (original) showing a corresponding budget showing the estimated cost of each proposed activity.&lt;br /&gt;
