#Contact the nearest embassy via telephone or email to determine if you need to book an appointment for your application since different embassies have different policies&lt;br /&gt;
#If you need to book an appointment for your walk in application, to do so view the embassy’s website. Like in the case of the Consulate General of Jamaica New York City: [https://congenjamaica-ny.org/ Link]&lt;br /&gt;
#Book the appointment and obtain application form for emergency certificate form the consulate in person or download it form their website alongside the Jamaican passport application form which you can also obtain form the consulate office or download it form their website. You can also download the application forms directly form the links provided in the “Documents to Use” section below&lt;br /&gt;
#Fill the application forms correctly then gather and attach all the required documents to the complete forms&lt;br /&gt;
#On the date of the appointment, visit the embassy and submit you complete application to the embassy service provider officer&lt;br /&gt;
#The embassy official will check your application if has all the required document and it is up to the required standard then the official will direct you to pay the application fees according to the embassy policy. I.e. type of currency and form of payment.&lt;br /&gt;
#Pay the recommended application fee and obtain the payment receipt.&lt;br /&gt;
#Upon payment, the emergency certificate will be processed and issued to you&lt;br /&gt;

*An Emergency Certificate is a one-way travel document designed for travel to Jamaica only and is not generally recognized by other territories, as it is neither bar-coded nor does it have an  expiry date. The applicant will be required to do a passport renewal or replacement once they are in Jamaica.
