If you are currently dealing with a Funeral Director about the funeral arrangements for a recent death and/or its registration, he or she will normally be able to order and collect a death certificate on your behalf. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Additional copies: You may obtain additional copies of  a death certificate by approaching the Registry team at the Greffe. Submit a request and pay the fee. The certificate is usually available for collection on the next working day . &lt;br /&gt;

A Death Certificate is a document issued by a registrar of vital statistics that declares the date, location and cause of a person&amp;#039;s death. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
A copy of the death certificate is often required in procedures, such as execution of the will or making funeral arrangements. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Following are procedures on how you can obtain a death certificate in Guernsey.&lt;br /&gt;

Her Majesty&amp;#039;s Greffier is the Registrar-General of births, deaths and marriages and is authorised to licence and supervise civil marriages.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Registry team at the Greffe duties includes:&lt;br /&gt;
*Maintaining a record of all births in Guernsey and providing birth certificates &lt;br /&gt;
*Maintaining a record of all deaths in Guernsey, after examining the associated certification, and providing death certificates &lt;br /&gt;
*Liaising with the Law Officers of the Crown whenever the circumstances of a death suggest that further enquiries may be necessary &lt;br /&gt;
*Liaising with the Director of Public Health, hospitals and other health professionals to ensure that all births and deaths are promptly declared &lt;br /&gt;
*Conducting interviews with couples planning to marry and advising them on the associated requirements &lt;br /&gt;
*Performing civil marriages, either at the Court Building, at St James Concert and Assembly Hall, in private residences or at any Church or Chapel&lt;br /&gt;
