New page

==Procedure==
'''Apply Online'''
#The first step in paying his/her property taxes online from the comfort of the applicant’s home or office is to visit the Ghana.GOV website. Do note that whilst it’s branded as Ghana.GOV, the actual url is [https://ghana.gov.gh/ link]. If the applicant enters only “ghana.gov” in he/she browser, the applicant won’t find the website.
#Once there, click on the Sign Up button in the top right corner of the screen. It will redirect the applicant to their sign up page.
#The details the applicant will need to sign up include:
#*First Name
#*Other Names (if any)
#*Last Name
#*Phone Number
#*Email Address
#*Password
#The applicant is also have to check the small checkbox to agree to the Terms and Conditions. Once done, the applicant can click on the '''Continue''' button.
#A verification code will be sent to the phone number the applicant specified. All he/she has to do is enter that into the next screen he/she is presented with and click '''Continue'''.
#Once the verification is complete, the applicant can now log into the Ghana.GOV website for the first time. Click on Login at the top right corner and he/she will be able to log in with both his/her email address/phone number and password.
# The applicant will be redirected to an empty dashboard once he/she log in.
#To pay his/her taxes on Ghana.GOV, the applicant have to be logged in and click on the Find a Service link in the navigation menu from wherever he/she is.
#The applicant will be shown the Search Directory where the applicant can search for an agency or ministry to make his/her payment.
#Searching for GRA in the Search for Agencies box should be the quickest method.
#This will also display the Ghana Revenue Authority which is what They’re looking for.
#Clicking on this now pulls up the page for the Ghana Revenue Authority. It provides some useful information about them, their mission, vision, where their offices are located, email addresses and phone numbers.
# They’re looking for a nice yellow button somewhere on the bottom-right side of They’r screen that says File & Pay Taxes. Tapping on this should show you a pop-up menu displaying the options available for paying the GRA.
#They include:
#For the second field, it’s his/her business paying the tax, not the applicant as an individual so he/she should make sure that the applicant put in his/her business’ TIN his/her Ghana Card number or personal TIN.
#Finally, the applicant can select the time period (year and month) that his/her payment pertains to and hit the Submit Info button.
# The applicant will then be redirected to the '''Application Details''' page. If the page shows the name of his/her business correctly (as it automatically pulled it from their database when the applicant entered his/her business’ TIN), then the applicant can proceed to enter the amount the applicant is paying for that particular tax or invoice.
#The next destination is the Checkout Page where The applicant will find an invoice number has been generated for the applicant and the total amount the applicant is to pay is displayed.
#If everything there is accurate, click on the bright yellow Pay button that also mentions the total amount the applicant is paying. A pop-up window should appear showing he/she all the options available to he/she to make his/her tax payment via. These include:
#*Bank Card
#*Mobile Money
#*Scan & Pay
#*Pay with *222#
#*Pay at Bank
#If the applicant selects to pay with his/her Bank Card (we are assuming that all Visa, MasterCard and GH-Link cards should be acceptable), a pop-up allows the applicant to enter his/her Card Number, Name on Card, Expiry Date and CVV (Card Verification Value, usually the 3 digit number at the back of his/her card.)
#If the applicant select to pay with Mobile Money, he/she will be able to complete his/her payment via any of the 3 main mobile money networks in Ghana, MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash and AirtelTigo.
#The applicant simply selects the network the applicant desire and follow the prompts shown. Disclaimer, if he/she is paying via MTN Mobile Money, they require that the number the applicant signed up to Ghana.GOV with be the same number of the wallet he/she is paying with. (We saw no such notice with the other 2 networks)
#Also note that if paying via mobile money, there are limits to the total amount the applicant can pay. MTN Mobile Money maxes out at GHc5, 000 in transactions per day whilst Vodafone Cash and AirtelTigo Money have a maximum transaction amount of GHc2, 000 per day.
#If the applicant selects the Scan & Pay option, then a QR code will appear on his/her screen allowing the applicant to use the app of his/her choice to complete his/her payment.
#The 4th option is a new one. the applicant can make his/her payments on Ghana.GOV via the short code *222# on all networks. Selecting this option will generate a unique short code just for the applicant with the invoice number included.
#Dialling this short code on his/her phone will allow the applicant to make payment for the invoice via any of the mobile money networks. (Note though that if the applicant try paying for the invoice with an MTN Mobile Money wallet number different from the number registered to his/her Ghana.GOV account, it may not go through.)
#Alternatively, if the applicant dial *222# on his/her phone, the applicant is presented with a menu to choose from:
#*Invoices
#*Pending Bills
#*GRA
#*RGD
#If the applicant selects Invoices, the applicant can enter an invoice number if the applicant has already generated one on the Ghana.GOV platform.
#Alternatively, the applicant can select Pending Bills if he/she doesn’t have the invoice number available. This option will pull all unpaid invoices he/she has already generated and the applicant can select from those.
#Selecting the RGD option allows the applicant to enter his/her company registration number and start the process to filing his/her annual returns or viewing his/her filing history.
#Selecting the GRA option presents the applicant initially with 3 options, UNIPASS, GRA Direct Payments and VIT.
#And just like we did on the Ghana.GOV website, if the applicant select GRA Direct Payments, the applicant get a series of tax types to select from. Following the prompts will enable the applicant generate an invoice of the amount the applicant specify for whichever tax type the applicant desire.
#The final payment method available is '''Pay at Bank'''. Selecting this option shows his/her '''Invoice Number''' and gives the applicant the option to have the payment instructions sent either to his/her email address or phone number.
#Sending the notification to his/her email account for example will have the applicant receiving an email notification shortly. It states that the applicant can pay his/her Ghana.GOV invoice at any branch of any licensed commercial bank across Ghana.
#When paying physically in a banking hall, besides the money for payment, his/her going to need the applicant is invoice number so make sure that the applicant hold onto that. But since this whole article is about paying his/her taxes online, let’s also finish it online.
#Depending on who the applicant bank with, the applicant may have the option to pay for his/her GRA invoices right from his/her bank account. The advantage of doing it this way is that the applicant don’t have to pay any transaction fees to Visa, MasterCard or any of the mobile money networks that charge a fee.
#Zenith bank for example allows the applicant to pay Ghana.GOV via their mobile shortcode *966# and via their Corporate Internet Banking portal.
#Dialing *966*3*111# pulls up a prompt allowing the applicant to enter his/her invoice number generated on Ghana.GOV. This is under their Merchant Pay option. And following the prompts will allow the applicant to complete his/her payment in no time.
#If Corporate Internet Banking is his/her style, with Zenith, a menu called Pay for Services on the left side allows the applicant to select the service Ghana GOV Payment. The applicant enter the invoice number generated on Ghana.GOV and clicking the Verify button will instantly confirm the details of his/her invoice, allowing the applicant to proceed with his/her payment.
#Whichever way the applicant decides to pay, it will be confirmed almost instantly once received by Ghana.GOV. the applicant should expect to receive both email and text notifications of his/her successful payment. (These notifications are aside the ones the applicant receive for successfully generating his/her invoice)
#Whilst the applicant will have his/her receipt emailed to the applicant and the applicant can also download it from his/her Ghana.GOV account. Simply navigate to his/her dashboard to display all his/her invoices.
#Find the invoice the applicant wants to download. It should be marked paid. Clicking on it will open it up along with all its details.
#Finally, clicking on Download or Print will give the applicant a PDF copy of his/her invoice which the applicant should certainly keep for his/her records.
#The processing time for this procedure is immediate.
