Only close members of the family can apply for a death certificate. &lt;br /&gt;

The Registry Office only records deaths within the Cook Islands.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
By law, deaths must be registered within three (3) days of burial. If the body is missing, registration can only take place after seven (7) years. For un-natural deaths, you will have to wait for the Coroners&amp;#039; report before the registration can proceed.&lt;br /&gt;
